ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE HIRING PROCESS
Our Account Executive (AE) hiring process consists of six stages and typically takes three to five weeks. The process may vary depending on org alignment, but it includes three to four interviews with Sales or cross-functional leaders and a Sales Assessment. Our sales organization is structured around the following core functions: Commercial Acquisition, Commercial Expansion, Enterprise Acquisition, Enterprise Expansion, and Majors.
You may be invited to attend at least one interview in person, so you can connect face-to-face with a member of the team. If you have any questions during the process, your Recruiter or Hiring Manager is here to help and will act as your primary point of contact.
If you don't hear back from us after 30 days of applying, it's possible that your skills and qualifications simply didn't align with the requirements of the position. Keep in mind that there are many other opportunities out there. You never know which one might be the perfect fit for you!
If your application meets the requirements for the role, a member of our Recruiting team will schedule a call to get to know you and your sales background. Use this opportunity to ask questions about the role, the team, and the rest of the hiring process.
This is an interview directly with the District Manager (DM) and an opportunity to expand on what was shared during the Recruiter Screen. They will deep-dive into your background and sales skills to confirm that you have the competencies needed to be successful on their team. Some managers may ask you for additional time if they need more information or if they run out of time to address any questions you may have.
For Commercial AEs, this round is a “mock discovery” where you’ll present a short deck based on a prompt we’ll share ahead of time, like a prospecting plan or deal review. Think of it as your chance to show how you think, sell, and add value. Examples include:
- Prospecting: Identify two accounts under 250 employees in your assigned territory and create a value proposition for each.
- Deal Review: Walk us through a self-sourced, closed logo win that you’re proud of. Cover the deal cycle, business impact, and any challenges along the way.
For Enterprise AEs, this interview may be with a peer or peers to the DM from the Hiring Manager Screen, a small panel (Enterprise Expansion), or a Solutions Engineering Manager (Enterprise Acquisition and Majors).
Regardless of the audience, the goal of the First-Round interview is to help us see your sales mindset in action, from opportunity spotting to stakeholder management. Your Recruiter will make sure you’re set up for success prior to each conversation.
The Sales Assessment you will complete at this stage was designed by Snowflake sales leadership and recruiting to help evaluate how well candidates align with the role requirements. The assessment should take roughly 20 minutes to complete and will not require any preparation, as it does not cover specific technical or sales related questions. Candidates at this stage are expected to complete the assessment within 48 hours of receipt.
The goal of the second Round Interview(s) is to assess your fit with the broader team and may dive deeper into your sales skills, hands-on experience, or transferable skills. Your Recruiter will ensure you are prepared prior to each conversation.
For Commercial AE roles, you will complete one 30-minute interview with the Regional Vice President (RVP).
For Enterprise AE roles, you will interview with the RVP (Enterprise Expansion and Majors) or present in front of a small panel (Enterprise Acquisition), depending on the org. In the second stage of this round, Enterprise AE candidates will either meet with the Global Vice President (Enterprise Expansion and Majors) or the RVP (Enterprise Acquisition).
For Commercial AE roles, you will complete one 30-minute interview with the Regional Vice President (RVP).

This is the final stretch! After your interviews, the team will regroup and make a decision, usually within a few days. We’ll keep you up to date throughout the process, but don’t hesitate to reach out to your Recruiter if you have questions along the way.
